About

We created Asian Rights Matter as a way to rally Asian peoples living in the United States to take a stand against the oppression that they have been facing for so long. Since the 1880s, the federal government has been taking steps in legislation to limit immigration exclusively from Pan Asian countries. During World War II, the United States government decided that half of its war effort should be to take its own citizens and lock them up in internment camps, leading many to lose their homes, businesses, and dignity in this cruel act. In the COVID-19 pandemic, many Asians are being attacked for what many call “the Chinese Virus.” We are at the beginning of history’s repetition.
